SARAJEVO, Jan 3 (Hina) - UNPROFOR was expecting peace talks on
Bosnia to continue, the UN in Sarajevo said today.
"The present cease-fire and cessation of hostilities agreement
has led to a letup in fighting and we should take advantage of it
to continue talks on a permanent solution to the crisis," UN
spokesman Alexander Ivanko said.
The UNPROFOR in Bosnia-Herzegovina today called on Contact
Group members to start a fresh round of talks as soon as possible,
Ivanko said.
He said supply convoys for peace-keepers and civilian relief
convoys did not as yet enjoy full freedom of movement. Serbs only
allowed individual UN vehicles through their checkpoints, and all
convoys had to have special permits from Pale.
"We are aware that things cannot change overnight. However, we
cannot endlessly wait for our convoys to be granted full freedom of
movement - and we expect this to be arranged before the end of the
week," Ivanko said.
