After six-hour negotiations, no agreement had been reached, because of the impossibility of satisfying the demands of the Union regarding the repercussions of last illegal strike, the statement said, adding that the negotiations are to continue on Monday.

ZAGREB, Dec 28 (Hina) - The process of reconciliation between the
Croatian Railways (HZ) management and Croatian Railway Workers'
Union continued on Saturday morning, a statement from the Office of
the HZ main director, Marijan Klaric, said.
As the process had ended without a peaceful resolution,
negotiations between the HZ management and the union immediately
resumed, the statement said.
After six-hour negotiations, no agreement had been reached,
because of the impossibility of satisfying the demands of the Union
regarding the repercussions of last illegal strike, the statement
said, adding that the negotiations are to continue on Monday. #L#
In the meantime, the Railway Worker's Union began a strike at
10.00 hours, as it had announced.
Freight trains are operational in line with the decision of
the Maritime Affairs, Transport and Communications Ministry, which
stipulates a minimal number of freight trains for the safety of
state interests.
All passenger trains are operational till 2 January 1997,
according to the Union's decision.
