ZAGREB, Nov 2 (Hina) - A concelebrating Mass was served in Zagreb
on Saturday on occasion of All Saints' Day, to pay homage to
soldiers killed during the war in Croatia. The service was
conducted by auxiliary Zagreb bishop Msgr. Juraj Jezerinac.
Present were families of killed soldiers, high officials of
the Croatian armed force and police.
Expressing thanks to all soldiers killed in the Homeland War,
Msgr. Jezerinac said that they had given their lives for truth and
freedom, for the love towards their homeland.
They had been the victims of evil in the world, he said.
We do not want to sow evil, but to actively contribute to the
spiritual promotion of the heart and mind and to counteract this
civilization of evil and death with the civilization of good and
life, Jezerinac said.
"Their lives and their deaths speak to us loudly that we have
to fight against the dark world and for the creation of a new
world, and our thanks to them becomes a permanent prayer,"
Jezerinac said.
