MOSTAR, Nov 1 (Hina) - Mostar Mayor Ivan Prskalo on Friday issued a
public statement reacting to the statements of the EU special envoy
to Mostar, Sir Martin Garrod. #L#
"The most recent statements of Sir Martin Garrod about the
security situation in Mostar are not in compliance to the policy of
peace and tolerance, mutual agreement and joint resolutions to all
disputable issues which I, as Mayor, advocate, as does the town
administration," the statement said.
"The injudicious statements and one-sided interpretations of
events and occurrences by high officials of the EU agree with with
their withdrawal from Mostar and certain deadlines to which they
are committed, rather than with the interest to improve the safety
situation in Mostar," the statement said, adding that "after the EU
administration leaves the town, the citizens of Mostar have to
continue to live together".
Prskalo warned that he would prevent and publicly condemn all
those who find the town of Mostar as good breeding ground for crime
at the impairment of the town's residents and their property.
It was the town's administration and its residents who would
decide about the fate of Mostar in the future, Prskalo said.
