GERMAN GREENS VISIT MOSTAR

MOSTAR, Oct 21 (Hina) - A delegation of Germany's Greens, headed by the party's leader Joseph Fischer, visited Mostar on Monday. After talks with the EU special envoy Martin Garrod on the current problems in this southern Bosnian-Herzegovinian town, Fischer voiced hope that there would be some progress in establishing joint administration and the unified police of the town. The Greens also talked with the Mostar deputy mayor Safet Orucevic (of Moslem-led SDA party), but they did not meet the town mayor Ivan Prskalo (a Croat representative). Fischer said he was sorry for not meeting Prskalo and failing to hear of Croat side's views. The Greens' delegation will visit the Bosnian capital of Sarajevo, and towns of Tuzla and Banja Luka as well. "We would like to learn more of possibilities of organized repatriation of Bosnian refugees in Germany," Fischer said adding he was also interested in experience of German troops serving with the NATO-led peace force IFOR in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
