ZAGREB, 7 Oct (Hina) - The Presidency of the Democratic National
Union (DNZ) decided last night that its representatives to the Una-
Sana Canton Assembly would not attend the first Assembly session
scheduled to take place in Bihac on Monday, DNZ vice president
Bozidar Sicel told a press conference in Zagreb today. #L#
There were several reasons for that decision, one of them
being the political terrorism that reigned in western Bosnia, Sicel
said. In the past ten days, there had been seven bomb attacks on
opposition supporters and DNZ members, Sicel said, stressing that
the situation in the Una-Sana Canton and the whole Federation could
not guarantee the minimum of safety for DNZ representatives.
That fact had been confirmed by recent statements given by
Party of Democratic Action (SDA) representatives, who stated that
every DNZ representative who tried to enter the territory of
Bosnia-Herzegovina would be arrested. The DNZ had sent a letter to
the European Union and the Organization for Security and
Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), protesting over such statements and
demanding from the international community to provide security
conditions for DNZ representatives, Sicel said. So far, the party
had received no answer, he added.
