OSCE ANNOUNCES FINAL PRELIMINARY RESULTS OF BH ELECTIONS

SARAJEVO, Sept 24 (Hina) - The OSCE Mission in Sarajevo on Tuesday announced the final preliminary results on the number of seats that political parties won at legislative organs of authority in Bosnia- Herzegovina (BH), the entities and the cantons. The Party of Democratic Action (SDA) will in the next two years have most mandates at the BH Assembly's Lower House. According to votes from the Bosnian Federation, SDA won 16 representative seats, additional three according to votes from Republika Srpska, which is 19 out of 42 which the BH Assembly's Lower House has. The second party with most representatives at the Lower House of BH will be the Serb Democratic Party (SDS) with nine mandates, followed by the Croatian Democratic Union of BH (HDZ BH) with eight, while the Joint List, the Party for BH and the Alliance for Peace and Progress will have two representatives each. Out of 140 seats in the Bosnian Federation's Lower House, 78 will go to SDA, 35 to HDZ BH, 11 each to the Joint List and the Party for BH, 3 to the party of Fikret Abdic (western Bosnian secessionist during the conflict) and 2 to the Croatian Party of Right. SDS will have 45 representatives at the People's Assembly of Republika Srpska, followed by SDA with 14 and the Alliance for Peace and Progress with 10 representatives. At elections for cantonal assemblies, SDA won the majority of representative seats in the cantons of Una-Sana, Tuzla, Doboj- Zenica, Sarajevo and Gorazde. HDZ BH won majority in the Western, Neretva and Kupres cantons. SDA and HDZ BH have almost the same number of votes in the Central Bosnian Canton.
