ZAGREB, Sept 3 (Hina) - The Croatian government on Tuesday held a number of meetings as part of efforts to establish measures in order to ensure preconditions for the reorganization and restructuring of companies. Presiding the
meetings was Croatian Premier Zlatko Matesa, a statement from the Croatian government public relations office said.

number of meetings as part of efforts to establish measures in
order to ensure preconditions for the reorganization and
restructuring of companies.
Presiding the meetings was Croatian Premier Zlatko Matesa, a
statement from the Croatian government public relations office

Present at the meeting were representatives of the companies
Koka d.d. Varazdin, Podravka d.d. Koprivnica, Pilana d.d. Ogulin
and Croatian Railways, vice-premier Borislav Skegro, Finance
Minister Bozo Prka, Privatization Minister Ivan Penic, Agriculture
Minister Matej Jankovic and Transport, Maritime Affairs and
Communications Minister Zeljko Luzavec.
The meetings discussed all the difficulties the companies
face, especially regarding their high debts, operating losses, high
number of employees with the insufficient use of capacity and
difficult conditions for placing the products on the domestic and
international market.
The meetings stressed that the government would do everything
within the framework of its authority to enable these companies to
continue their programmes of reorganization and financial
reconstruction.
The meeting also stressed that towns and counties should
contribute to the resolving of the problems, especially regarding
payment for municipal services etc.
Also, the management of every company should show higher
creativity and responsibility in order to achieve higher results in
the programmes of reorganization and restructuring of these
companies, the statement said.
