PRISTINA, 14 Aug (Hina) - The Kosovo Committee for the Protection of Human Rights and Freedoms on Wednesday issued a statement on violations of human rights and freedoms of Kosovo Albanians in July. The statement, which was sent to
numerous international organisations, warned that violations of human rights of Kosovo Albanians had been continued during the past month.

of Human Rights and Freedoms on Wednesday issued a statement on
violations of human rights and freedoms of Kosovo Albanians in
July. The statement, which was sent to numerous international
organisations, warned that violations of human rights of Kosovo
Albanians had been continued during the past month. #L#
The statement said that 429 Albanians had been maltreated in
various ways in the past month. One Albanian was killed and another
one had received wounds under yet unknown circumstances.
The Serbian police had maltreated 198 Albanians under the
pretext of illegal possession of firearms, and 108 persons had been
brought in for questioning. Seven children and 18 women had been
maltreated. Members of Albanian political parties and teachers had
been the main victims of maltreatment.
More than 10,000 Kosovo Albanians had been maltreated in the
last six months, the statement said.
