SARAJEVO, Aug 7 (Hina) - The Bishops' Conference of Bosnia-
Herzegovina on Wednesday called on all Bosnian Catholics to go to
the polls in September.
"We call on every citizen to go to the polls and (...) give
his or her vote to those who can be expected to take a firm and
courageous stand agains injustice, violence, the violation of human
rights and liberties," the Bishops said in an open letter to the
Bosnian public.
"Give your vote to a candidate who truly opposes ethnic
cleansing and the so-called humane resettlement, (...) who has
wholeheartedly embraced the goal of the return of refugees to their
homes, the reconstruction of homes and places of worship, the
healing of those wounded in body and in soul and a legal and
political system that would ensure the freedom and prosperity of
all," the Bishops said.
"Nobody has the right to remain silent nor allow, by his
absence, people who are not pursuing a just policy to take the
power," the Bishops said.
