"This is not a satisfactory outcome," State Department
spokesman Nicholas Burns said in Washington.
He added that Karadzic should be removed from power, that he
must remain without any political influence and had to leave
Bosnia, that is, he should be in The Hague.
The U.S. would continue to support the International Peace
Coordinator, Carl Bildt, in his efforts to remove Karadzic from
power, Burns said.
He described the reimposing of sanctions against Serbia and
Bosnian Serbs as a distinct possibility at any moment that the
international community decided that that was the best action.
Belgrade and Pale should be given time to fulfill the requests
of the international community, Burns added.
