SARAJEVO, April 6 (Hina) - A US Senate delegation led by Senate
Democratic minority leader Thomas Daschle said during a visit to
Sarajevo on Saturday that the tragic death of US Commerce
Secretary of Ronald Brown would not affect the implementation of
the Dayton peace agreement and Washington's relations with
Bosnia-Herzegovina.
The delegation, including Senators Orrin Hatch and Harry
Reid, was received by Bosnian President Alija Izetbegovic who
offered them his condolences on the deaths of Brown and 32 other
Americans in a plane crash near the southern Croatian coastal
town of Dubrovnik on Wednesday.
Izetbegovic said that the people who had died in the crash
had been good friends of Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Izetbegovic's office said in a statement that the talks also
focused on the implementation of the peace agreement and the
state of human rights and freedoms in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
