ZAGREB, Jan 16 (Hina) - Croatia's ambassador to the United States,
Miomir Zuzul, addressed a symposium entitled "Croatia on the
threshold of European integrations and the 21st century" in Zagreb
on Tuesday.
Speaking of the progress and results of last year's peace
talks in Dayton, Ohio, Zuzul said that the Dayton peace agreement
contained clear assurances that the remaining occupied parts of
eastern Croatia would be reintegrated into its constitutional and
legal system in a peaceful way.
"That is an important step towards European and world
integrations," Zuzul said.
The Dayton agreement showed that at this moment Europe could
not find real solutions to problems such as those in the former
Yugoslavia without the assistance of the United States, he said.
Zuzul said that the Dayton talks had ended in a draw based on
the apportioning of guilt.
