VUKOVAR, 21 Dec (Hina) - Between 15 and 21 December, the
Transitional Police Force in the U.N.-administered area registered
two persons moving out of the area with their property as well as 18
cases of transport of property from the Danube river region,
officials in the Office of Assistant Interior Minister Josko Moric
in Vukovar said.
A week earlier, between 9 and 15 December, 100 persons were leaving
the area per day.
Last week, the state border was crossed by about 8,000 persons a
day. In previous weeks, 25,000 to 30,000 persons would cross the
border per day.
This decrease in the number of people crossing the border is not the
result of restrictions, but of the introduction of regulations and
control of the state border, following the beginning of application
of an agreement on local border traffic between Croatia and
Yugoslavia.
There have been no incidents on the state border, officials in
Moric's office said.
