VUKOVAR, 27 Nov (Hina) - The head of the Transitional Police Force
in the Croatian Danube river region, Ivan Babic, described the
security situation in the region as 'exceptionally good' and
'stable'.
Only minor incidents had been registered in the region during the
past week, Babic said.
On the night between Monday and Tuesday, a man in a drunken state
threw a hand grenade in a street in Beli Manastir. The explosion
shattered the windows of two houses. The perpetrator was arrested,
Babic said.
The second incident happened in a farming cooperative in the
village of Dubocica, when a group attacked the cooperative's
nightguard with the intention of stealing a tractor.
However, they were prevented and managed to steal only a tool kit.
