SARAJEVO, Dec 9 (Hina) - Spokesman for the OSCE mission in Bosnia-
Herzegovina, Johan Verhayden, on Tuesday dismissed as unfounded
criticism by the Serb member of the Presidency of Bosnia-
Herzegovina, Momcilo Krajisnik, against the regularity of
parliamentary elections held in Republika Srpska last month.
Recalling that Krajisnik had cited a large amount of criticism in
the press during the past few days, especially regarding the vote
counting process, Verhayden told a news conference in Sarajevo that
statements that parties from the Bosnian Federation had in a
suspicious manner won the same number of seats in the new Republika
Srpska parliament as parties from the Serb entity were unfounded.
Verhayden recalled that the whole of Bosnia-Herzegovina had been
one electoral unit at the elections for the Republika Srpska
Assembly, so the electoral threshold had been calculated on the
basis of the total number of voters from the whole of Bosnia-
Herzegovina.
In a statement for the press, Krajisnik said that the Serb
Democratic Party (SDS) would not accept election results as issued
by the OSCE.
Verhayden declined to comment on what measures might be undertaken
in that case.
