( Editorial: --> 0636 ) VUKOVAR, Nov 13 (Hina) - Bodies of local authority in the Vukovar- Srijem County under the UNTAES control have mostly reached all the necessary decisions on the collection of taxes and other dues, but now they have to be implemented so the local authority could get the funds necessary for functioning, Vukovar-Srijem County Prefect Rudolf Koenig said in Vukovar on Thursday. Koenig said the county leadership would request of the local bodies that all inspection services in the Danubian area begin their work regularly and relentlessly as of 1 December. In the county under UNTAES there is as yet no financial discipline, so cash is used instead of money transfers. While newly-opened companies, arrived from exile, pay their dues regularly, the old ones do not, so unfair competition is created, Koenig said. He added that every municipality and town would establish a multi- national housing committee which would visit all apartments and houses and write a list of the current residents so a clear picture could be created.
