ZAGREB, Sept 11 (Hina) - Families of victims killed in 1991 at Ovcara near
Vukovar, asked that the mass grave be marked in dignity.
Representatives of the Centre for the Protection of Human Rights of
Missing and Imprisoned citizens of Croatia and their families, "APEL",
forwarded this request to the Croatian Parliament Deputy President
Jadranka Kosor on Thursday.
The Apel delegation informed Kosor that some of their members had
visited Ovcara and that they had been appalled at the sight.
The delegation asked Kosor to request of UN Transitional
Administrator for the Danubian area, William Walker, to enable family
members of those who had been killed on Ovcara to visit the mass grave on
26 September, which will be day four years ago when families of missing
persons from Vukovar began to build a brick wall in front of the former
UNPROFOR headquarters in Zagreb. The names of missing persons were
written on the bricks.
