ZAGREB, March 20 (Hina) - The Croatian Government, on Thursday,
accepted a draft bill on the Croatian Post and Telecommunications,
with the aim of separating postal services from telecommunications.
The Government decided at a session to send the bill into the
parliamentary procedure.
It also sent into the parliamentary procedure a final bill on
amendments to a public utility law, the aim of which is to reduce
prices of construction of utility infrastructure and buildings.
The Government made a decree on debit claims concerning firms
and other legal bodies in Croatian areas liberated in the 'Flash'
and 'Storm' operations in 1995 as well as in eastern Slavonia that
is being peacefully reintegrated into the Croatian legal and
constitutional system.
Finance Minister Bozo Prka said the decree protected economic
subjects in the areas so that it did not allow forced collection
through blocking direct transfer accounts.
The Government accepted a proposal by the Education and Sports
Ministry for signing a letter of intent with the Czech Republic,
Slovakia and Italy on construction of primary schools for
minorities in Croatia.
On behalf of the Government, Premier Zlatko Matesa
congratulated Education Minister Ljilja Vokic and Secondary Schools
Teachers' Independent Trade Union's leader, Vesna Kanizaj, on
signing a collective agreement.
Premier Matesa said the Croatian Government would try to
improve the financial position of school employees during this and
next year.
