BUDAPEST, March 12 (Hina) - Croatian Privatization Minister Milan Kovac met
his Hungarian counterpart Judit Csiha in Budapest on Wednesday for talks on
the experience of the two countries in the privatization of big public
companies, particularly in the area of power industry.
Csiha said that Hungary was interested in participating in the
privatization process in the Croatian tourist sector and in the purchase of
shares of Croatian pharmaceutical companies.
The talks also focused on Hungary' announcement that it would buy 12.5
per cent of shares of the Adriatic oil pipeline operator Jadranski Naftovod,
or Janaf, in which both sides were very interested.
Kovac said after the talks that Hungary's experience would be useful
to Croatia in the preparation of legislation regulating the privatization of
big public companies.
