ZAGREB, Feb 12 (Hina) - Sixty percent of Croatian companies have been
privatized, Labour and Welfare Minister Joso Skara said during talks with
representatives of the Croatian and several European associations of
employers.
The delegates of employers' associations from Italy, Germany, Slovakia
and Austria were particularly interested in the process of privatization in
Croatia and reforms in its social, pension and health systems.
Speaking of labour and social laws, Skara said that they had been
drafted on German and Austrian models, and that trade unions and the
Croatian Association of Employers had taken an active part in their
formulation.
Skara expressed a hope that the Economic and Social Council and the
Social Partnership Council, which consist of representatives of trade
unions, employers and the government, would resume their work soon.
