ZAGREB, March 6 (Hina) - Croatia's Council of Defence and National Security
convened on Thursday under the chairmanship of President Franjo Tudjman, the
President's Office said in a statement.
Prime Minister Zlatko Matesa informed the Council about his visit to
Indonesia and Malaysia, saying that it had confirmed the exceptionally good
political relations with the two countries.
The economic cooperation is expected to expand because of a great
interest in the use of Croatian Adriatic ports and shipyards as well as in
investment works by Croatian companies in Indonesia and Malaysia.
During the Prime Minister's visit, Indonesia's and Malaysia's heads of
state reiterated their invitations to President Tudjman to visit their
countries.
As regards the situation in the Croatian Danube river region, the
Council reiterated its resolve that all state administration bodies should
complete necessary procedures in time so that local elections scheduled for
April 13 could be held successfully in the region as well as in other parts
of Croatia, the statement concluded.
