ZAGREB, Feb 25 (Hina) - At the suggestion of the Croatian government, the
State Judicial Council on Tuesday appointed Milan Vukovic as President of
the Croatian Supreme Court, Croatian Vice-
Premier Ljerka Mintas-Hodak said, stressing that Milan Vukovic had
proved a successful and competent jurist in performing the functions of
President of the Supreme Court, president of the State Judicial Commission,
member of the State Judicial Council and judge of the Croatian
Constitutional Court.
During the discussion, members of the State Judicial Council gave
their full support to Vukovic's appointment and president of the Judicial
Council, Ante Potrebica, expressed his conviction that in the duty of
president of the Supreme Court, Vukovic would contribute to the reputation
of the Supreme Court and judicial authority in Croatia.
Members of the State Judicial Council adopted the government's
suggestion unanimously.
Vukovic was once before appointed as Supreme Court president.
