BELGRADE, Feb 28 (Hina) - The joint Croatian-Yugoslav commission
for implementing article 7 of the agreement on normalizing
relations between the two countries held its first session in
Belgrade on Friday.
The meeting was chaired by the head of Yugoslav members on the
commission, Assistant Justice Minister Radivoje Rajakovic. The
Croatian delegates were headed by the head of the Government Office
for the Succession Project, Bozo Marendic.
"The Commission has determined that conditions should be
ensured for the concrete implementation of that part of the
agreement, in view of the fact that it regulates the creation of
conditions for the free and safe return of refugees and displaced
persons and the legal protection of the property of physical and
legal persons who have the citizenship of the other party to the
agreement.
"Therefore the first session determined legal principles for
implementing article 7 of the agreement and preparing an agreement
on compensation for all destroyed, damaged and missing property, as
well as subjects to which that part of the agreement applies," a
joint statement said.
Croatian and Yugoslav representatives signed a protocol
regulating the mode of work of the commission and drew up an agenda
for the next meeting due to take place in Zagreb in mid-March.
