SARAJEVO, Feb 10 (Hina) - The international peace coordinator in Bosnia-
Herzegovina, Carl Bildt, strongly condemned the violence in the southern
town of Mostar on Monday, appealing for calm and restraint.
"This is murder and must be treated as such. We will demand that those
responsible for these brutal acts are identified, arrested and brought to
trial," Bildt said in a statement released in Sarajevo.
Bildt called on the residents of Mostar - Moslems, Croats and Serbs
alike - to stay calm and preserve their dignity.
"Do not let the extremists destroy the peace that you can build
together," the statement said.
The high representative of the international community said that his
office would closely monitor further developments in cooperation with the
NATO-led Stabilization Force and the International Police Task Force.
