MOSTAR, Jan 12 (Hina) - The head of the Mostar council of the HDZ
(Croatian Democratic Union) party, Mile Puljic, on Sunday forwarded
a strong protest to the international senior peace administrator in
Bosnia-Herzegovina, Carl Bildt, over the act when Stabilization
Force (SFOR) members removed a Croatian flag from the building of
a grammar school in Mostar on Saturday night, the Bosnian Croat
news agency, HABENA, reported on Sunday morning.
"Sharing deep grievance and astonishment of the Croatian
Democratic Union membership, and, thus, of the overall Croat
population in Mostar, we send you the strongest protest, due to the
shameful act. We call on you to take most energetic investigation,
in line with your powers, and to remove immediately perpetrators of
this impertinent act, improper for the civilized world, from the
international community's units, which, we still believe, are hear
to perform an honest service of ensuring peace," Puljic said in the
protest letter.
