Yesterday's attempt by a group of Muslim families to return to
Stolac failed because a group of Croat refugees from central
Bosnia, now living in Stolac, prevented the return, asking to
return to their homes in central Bosnia.
The return of Muslim refugees from Stolac is part of a pilot-
project of the return of Bosnia's refugees to the towns of Jajce,
Stolac, Travnik and Bugojno.
It was agreed at tonight's meeting that the head of the Mostar
office of the U.N. High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR), Neill
Wright, would visit Stolac next Wednesday and talk to Croat
refugees from central Bosnia.
Croat refugees will also invite Bosnia's Presidency member and
President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kresimir
Zubak, to the meeting.
If Croat refugees agreed to the return of Muslim families to
Stolac, the nine Muslim families could return to the town next
Friday, said the head of the Stolac municipality Raguz.
