SARAJEVO, Feb 17 (Hina) - Of the 28 Bosniak families expelled
from their flats in Western Mostar last week, 23 had returned
so far, UN spokesman Aleksandar Ivanko confirmed in Sarajevo
on Monday, adding that the International Police received
information about a Croat family expelled from their flat in
Eastern Mostar yesterday.
The exact circumstances of the incident were still being
examined, Ivanko said and added that the same rules would be
applied in regard to all evicted people and to enable the
evicted Croats to return.
Members of the Stabilization Force (SFOR) continued to
discover banned weapons in Mostar, SFOR spokesman Tony White
said in Sarajevo, adding that three machine-guns had been
taken from members of the Western Mostar police during the
weekend.
White confirmed that on Sunday SFOR members performed a
check-up in the "Rama" hydroelectric power plant and found a
certain amount of banned weapons, which were taken away.
However, the SFOR spokesman denied that SFOR members broke
into "Rama" wrecking the furniture as reported on Sunday by
Hina on the basis of a statement of the Electric Power
Industry of the Croatian Community of Herzeg-Bosnia.
The plant's manager had been informed about the check-up
in advance, White said, adding that when the SFOR soldiers
arrived he refused to let them in, so the British soldiers
were forced to break the locks.
