MOSLEMS TO TRY AGAIN TO RETURN TO STOLAC NEXT FRIDAY

Autor:
SARAJEVO, Feb 3 (Hina) - A spokesman for the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), on Monday said the UNHCR would not give up organizing the return of Moslems (Bosniaks) to Stolac, despite incidents that had occurred last Friday in that southern Bosnian town when a large group of Croat refugees of central Bosnia prevented nine Moslem families to enter their home town. The UNHCR spokesman Kris Janowski told a news conference in Sarajevo that another attempt to return Moslems to Stolac would be organized next Friday (February 7). The situation is not good, but we shall not give up, Janowski said and added that the (Croat-Moslem) Bosnian Federation's President Kresimir Zubak fully supported the project of returning Moslems to Stolac. Janowski portrayed the situation in Stolac as very well organized demonstrations. He reminded that the UNHCR had already faced such problems when it wanted to ensure cooperation of local authorities in every attempt to enable refugees to return to their homes and rebuild their houses.
