WASHINGTON, Feb 18 (Hina) - Croatian Ambassador to the United
Nations, Ivan Simonovic, on Tuesday delivered credentials to the UN
Secretary-General Kofi Annan in New York, the Croatian permanent
mission to the United Nations reported.
Ambassador Simonovic said that he was assuming the post when
Croatia was entering a period of peace, and that's why activities
of the Croatian diplomacy in the World Organization's centre would
be directed from problems in the region toward regular activities
of the UN.
Speaking of the successful process of reintegration of eastern
Slavonia, Baranja and western Sirmium, Kofi Annan pointed out the
positive role of Croatian President Franjo Tudjman in the process.
