Everts thanked Pavletic for hospitality and help Croatia
provided to the EUMM.
Croatia is now a peaceful region and efforts of the EUMM
are directed more towards Bosnia and Herzegovina, so that the
EUMM headquarters would be transferred from Zagreb to Sarajevo
by the end of May, Everts said.
The talks also tackled the situation in the Croatian
Danubian area. Pavletic said that Croatia wanted to
reintegrate the area in a peaceful way and guarantee
protection of human rights in line with highest European
standards to all those who were ready to accept the Croatian
state.
The EUMM was ready to deploy a monitoring mission in the
Danubian area after its reintegration into Croatia, Everts
said. Pavletic agreed to the proposal in principle, adding
that if the proposal was to be implemented, the two sides
would have to agree on the mission's mandate.
