SARAJEVO, Feb 21 (Hina) - The City Committee of the Sarajevan Croatian
Democratic Union (HDZ) on Friday issued a statement warning that the
position of Croats in the Bosnian capital was getting worse and that the
Muslim side showed no will to cooperate in providing the respect of at least
basic human rights and the implementation of the protocol on the
organization of Sarajevo.
Every day an ever increasing number of Croats complained to the HDZ
City Committee about various modes of pressure and intimidation with the aim
of forcing Croats to move out, the statement pointed out.
Reminding that the Act on Abandoned Flats deprived Sarajevan Croats of
almost 3.000 flats, the HDZ City Committee warned that fear and insecurity
were slowly creeping among other Croats as well, the cause of which were not
only the Muslim media campaign, accusing Croats, but criminal offences too,
such as yesterday's attack on the St. Ante Franciscan monastery, the
statement said, concluding that such actions could in no way contribute to
the establishment of the Federation.
