The government had already met some of pensioners' requests
and it had increased budget assets for pension allowances. Several
disputable issues remained to be solved and they could be solved in
the foreseeable future, Matesa said after the meeting.
The vice president of the Croatian Pensioners' Trade Union
(SUH), Ivan Nahtigal, said it could be noticed that the government
wanted to solve pensioners' problems lately.
Premier Matesa had been told that the government should pay
debts for 1993 and 1994 to pensioners and that pensioners should
have more influence in the management of the pension fund, Nahtigal
said.
