SARAJEVO, 30 Jan (Hina) - The International Police Task Force (IPTF) and local Serb police yesterday started patrolling the area of Gajevi, a northern Bosnian village located in the inter-entity separation zone and under Bosnian Serb
control. The purpose of those patrols was to lessen tensions and secure the continuation of the return of Bosniac refugees to the village, said U.N. spokesman Alexander Ivanko in Sarajevo on Thursday.

(IPTF) and local Serb police yesterday started patrolling the
area of Gajevi, a northern Bosnian village located in the
inter-entity separation zone and under Bosnian Serb control.
The purpose of those patrols was to lessen tensions and
secure the continuation of the return of Bosniac refugees to

According to IPTF information, 28 persons from the
Federation territory entered Gajevi this morning to continue
setting up prefabricated houses.
Colum Murphy, spokesman for the office of the high
representative for the implementation of the peace agreement,
said that Bosnian Serb authorities had pledged to carry out an
investigation and punish those responsible for an incident
which happened last Sunday when a group of Bosniacs, who were
repairing their houses in Gajevi, was attacked.
Murphy said that Biljana Plavsic had personally promised
to see that it was done, at yesterday's meeting with Carl
Bildt and the Stabilization Force (SFOR) commander, General
Crouch.
