SARAJEVO, 21 Jan (Hina) - Since the signing of the Dayton peace agreement, some 800 refugees have returned to their homes in the separation zone along the inter-entity borderline in Bosnia and Herzegovina, said Chris Janowski,
spokesman for the U.N. High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) in Sarajevo on Tuesday.
SARAJEVO, 21 Jan (Hina) - Since the signing of the Dayton peace
agreement, some 800 refugees have returned to their homes in the
separation zone along the inter-entity borderline in Bosnia and
Herzegovina, said Chris Janowski, spokesman for the U.N. High
Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) in Sarajevo on Tuesday. #L#
A special commission including representatives of the
international community has approved the return of some 1,300
persons, mainly Bosniacs, who wanted to return to their villages on
the territory of the Bosnian Serb entity.
The action of their return includes tomorrow's return of 36
Bosniac families (168 persons) to the village of Gajevi, northern
Bosnia, Serb entity.
International representatives will closely watch the situation
in the village, Janowski said.
The return of Bosniac refugees is completely in accordance
with Annex 7 of the Dayton agreement, Janowski said, recalling that
possession of any weapons in the separation zone is forbidden.
