CRO PARLIAMENT VICE PRESIDENT MEETS SLOVAKIAN AMBASSADOR

Autor: ;MM;
ZAGREB, Jan 14 (Hina) - A Croatian Parliament vice president, Vladimir Seks, on Tuesday received Slovakia's Ambassador to Croatia, Matusa Kucera, accompanied by representatives of Slovakians' cultural association in Croatia. At the reception Ambassador Kucera notified Seks of the division of property and assets between Czechs and Slovakians in the Republic of Croatia, and asked him for the support so that the Slovakian minority in the country could get its share of property in which both Czechs and Slovakians, or in other words the former joint country, had together invested. Ambassador Kucera said that a building in Subiceva Street in Zagreb had been allocated to Czechs according to a court ruling in June 1996. Furthermore, the court ruled that the former joint cultural centre of Slovakians and Czechs in the town of Daruvar (100 kms east of Zagreb) would be given to Czechs. Slovakians hold that the property should be divided in ratio of two to one in favour to Czechs. At the meeting Slovakian representatives of the Slavonian village of Josipovac (eastern Croatia), thanked Seks for support in the construction of the school in the village. Seks told them that funds had been ensured for ending the school's construction. (hina) mm mš 141805 MET jan 97
