SARAJEVO, Jan 16 (Hina) - The president of Bosnia-Herzegovina's
collective presidency, Alija Izetbegovic, was admitted to the
University Clinical Centre in Sarajevo on Thursday for a medical
examination.
The state news agency BH Press quoted a statement by
Izetbegovic's office as saying that the President would continue to
perform his official duties during a five-day stay in the hospital.
On Wednesday night, Sarajevo television showed footage of
Izetbegovic meeting ambassadors of the big-power Contact Group
member states.
Kresimir Zubak, a member of the three-man presidency and
president of the Croat-Moslem Federation, sent a letter to
Izetbegovic on Thursday, requesting that presidency sessions be
held at least once a week in line with the already determined
provisional regulations on the work of the presidency.
Zubak said that if the chairman was unable to call sessions, a
schedule should be drawn up according to which the two other
presidency members would do so.
Copies of the letter were also delivered to the third member
of the presidency, Momcilo Krajisnik, and the office of
international peace coordinator Carl Bildt.
