VINKOVCI, Jan 21 (Hina) - Vukovar-Srijem County leadership on
Tuesday voiced dissatisfaction with the current course of mine
clearance of the County's area under the UN Transitional
Administration.
They forwarded a demand to the Croatian Government to find
solutions referring to taking less time for mine-sweeping and to
forming a special unit in the County for mine clearance of the
Croatian Danubian area.
The County leadership accepted a proposal that the UN-
administered towns of Vukovar and Ilok should be granted additional
means, worth about US$ 182,000, from the county budget. The
County's municipalities in the UN-administrated area, which are
unable to finance its expenditure due to low revenues, would be
granted 2 million kuna (about US$ 364,000).
