CERIC, Jan 25 (Hina) - Parish priest Ante Mihaljevic gave his
blessing to families in Ceric on Friday, and thus symbolically
marked the return of displaced persons to this most damaged village
in the Croatian Danube river region.
After more than 5 years of being occupied, Ceric was
reintegrated into the Croatian constitutional and legal system last
December and its reconstruction began.
So far, 50 percent of houses have been cleared of mines and
the reconstruction of infrastructure is to begin in the spring.
The reconstruction of the infrastructure is expected to cost
about 5 million German marks.
