MOSTAR, Aug 8 (Hina) - Two members of the 1st Guards Brigade "Ante
Bruno Busic" of the Army of the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina
have been beaten up by a mob of rod-wielding villagers, the
Herzegovina-Neretva Canton Interior Ministry said on Saturday.
A statement from the Ministry's public relations office, carried by
the Bosnian Croat news agency Habena, said the incident involving
Luka Zelenik from Doljani and Pavo Krizanac from Tomislavgrad
occurred at about 4am on Friday.
Zelenik and Krizanac were driving a personal car from Jablanica in
southern BH towards Doljani when they were stopped on a section of
the road by five men from the villages of Doljani and Sovici, and
then beaten with steel rods, the statement said.
The two Bosnian Croat soldiers received heavy injuries and were
taken to Jablanica hospital for treatments. After giving
statements to the Jablanica police department they were then
released to go home, reported Habena.
