ZAGREB, July 14 (Hina) - The admission of the Croatian World
Congress (HSK) to the United Nations' institutions is a great
acknowledgement for the HSK and the whole Croatian diaspora, the
HSK president Simun Sito Coric told a press conference in Zagreb on
Tuesday.
The HSK was admitted to the U.N. as a non-government international
organisation with the status of an advisor on June 26.
This is the first time a Croatian non-government organisation has
been given a full member status, Coric said.
Croats living outside of Croatia must have their official
representatives both in Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina, Coric said
commenting on claims that the Croatian diaspora should not be
represented in the Croatian National Parliament.
The HSK has accepted with pleasure the idea of the Vatican diplomacy
on erecting a monument of Cardinal Alojzije Stepinac in
Washington.
Croatian information centres were opened in Cologne and Budapest at
the beginning of July, Coric said.
