MOSTAR, July 5 (Hina) - A girl was killed and a man was wounded in the
eastern (Bosniak-controlled) part of Mostar on Saturday night,
following Croatia's victory over Germany at the football World Cup
in France.
The 25-year-old Emina Catic was killed while sitting in a bar in
eastern Mostar while Husein Djalilovic (aged 67) sustained severe
injuries to his head also in a bar in the eastern part of the town.
Djalilovic was hospitalised, the head of the High Representative's
office in Mostar, Martin Garrod, told reporters Sunday.
During the night, a group of Croats ravaged a Bosniak returnee
suburb in Stolac, southern Bosnia-Herzegovina, Garrod said.
All those who participated in the shooting shared great
responsibility, he added.
Without going into details, Garrod announced a thorough
investigation into the incidents.
He said he had sent a letter to the Herzegovina-Neretva canton
authorities, requesting that similar incidents and shooting be
prevented after Wednesday's match between Croatia and France.
