LYON, July 4 (Hina) - Croatian President Franjo Tudjman is
attending the world cup's quarter final Saturday soccer match
between Croatia and Germany in Lyon, France.
Upon arriving at the Lyon airport, President Tudjman and associates
were received by the highest officials of the Croatian Soccer
Association headed by president Branko Miksa.
The Croatian team met President Tudjman at their headquarters in
Jeane Ardi, 40km from Lyon.
It is honourable to be a Croat, the Croatian President said wishing
luck in the match with Germany to every member of the Croatian
representation.
The successes in sports are the result of Croatian freedom and
Croatian independence, he said.
The whole Croatia is with you, Tudjman told the representation,
adding this too helped raise the consciousness and pride of a
Croat.
He told the representation he had faith in them, their leadership
and selector from the start.
Travelling with Tudjman are the presidential Chief-of-Staff Hrvoje
Sarinic, President's advisor for internal politics, Ivic Pasalic,
chairman of the Zagreb City Assembly Zlatko Canjuga and other
political and sports officials.
