ZAGREB, Jan 9 (Hina) - A celebration will be organised on the
occasion of January 15, the day of the termination of the UNTAES
mandate in eastern Croatia, the head of the Croatian Government's
Communications Office, Neven Jurica, said Friday .
Representatives of the state authority will be given the Resolution
on the Withdrawal of the UN Transitional Administration for Eastern
Croatia, Baranja and Western Sirmium, Jurica said.
On January 15, Croatia will achieve full territorial integrity, and
that day will become a big day in the history of independent
Croatia, said Jurica.
He added that the Croatian Government had established a National
Committee for marking the 50th anniversary of the UN declaration on
human rights, due to the proclamation of 1998 as the year of human
rights protection.
Jurica recalled the Croatian Parliament had ratified the European
Convention on Human Rights and Freedoms, and its protocols.
The standards for the protection of human rights have been
integrated into the Croatian Constitution, Jurica said.
