BORINCI, Jan 5 (Hina) - Croatian Radio-Television (HRT) managing
director Ivica Mudrinic on Monday set to work a transmission system
in Borinci, eastern Croatia.
The system, worth US$1.8 million, includes three transmitters
which will carry radio and television broadcasts of the HRT.
Mudrinic said with these transmitters, "the reintegration of the
Croatian media sector has come full circle".
The transmitters in Borinci also make it possible for Croats in
neighbouring countries to tune in to Croatian radio and television
broadcasts, the HRT managing director said.
After setting the transmitters to work, with UNTAES officials and
spokesman Philip Arnold in attendance, Mudrinic went to a meeting
in Vukovar with local Serb representatives.
He said they would discuss the full takeover of a transmitter in
Belje, which will broadcast three television and three radio
programmes of the HRT as of Monday.
"We agreed with Serb representatives that in due time they will
broadcast a half-hour television programme on the second channel of
Croatian Television", Mudrinic said.
