ZAGREB, May 28 (Hina) - Opposition party benches in the Croatian parliament expressed many objections during Wednesday's discussion on a bill on electronic media, assessing that the bill emphasised great power of the government, i.e.
of the competent ministry that would be responsible for budget funds to motivate pluralism and variety in the media. Nevertheless, it is more than probably that a majority in parliament will support the bill in its first reading.

A bill on rights for Croatian Homeland War veterans and their
families that was proposed by the Croatian Party of Rights (HSP) was
supported only by the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) and the
Croatian Social Liberal Party (HSLS). The government negatively
assessed the bill.
The HSP amongst else proposed a rise in the basic pension for
veterans as well as exemption from customs and VAT on imported
vehicles depending on the level of invalidity of veterans.
Parliament will continue its sitting on Thursday.
