from Vojvodina has called on refugees from Croatia not to accept Croatian
government's decision on providing housing for returnees and ignore invitations
by the UNHCR tto return to Croatia under the current conditions, Novi
Sad-based daily Gradjanski List reported on Saturday.The Croatian government decision is absolutely discriminating against
these people because they are offered 80 percent of the market value of their
apartments and people cannot take that," Committee heade Radenko Popic said,
"We also call on representatives of the UNHCR to discontinue campaigns
which humiliate and threaten the interests of refugees in Serbia and Montenegro
and we warn well-paid lawyers in non-governmental organisations that they are
obliged to warn people about the unacceptable content of the said decision,"
the Committee said in statement which was cited by the daily.
