In an interview with the Serbian daily Dnevnik of Friday, Stanimirovic said the SDSS had drawn up a bill of amendments to legislation on reconstruction under which the reconstruction of property damaged in the 1990s war would include houses demolished in areas which were not directly affected by the war.
Stanimirovic recalled that the deadline for reporting demolished property expired on September 30, and said he did not think the Croatian government would extend it. He added he would urge Serbian President Boris Tadic and PM Vojislav Kostunica to take a clear position on the return of refugees to Croatia.
Speaking of the fear of returning of people who might be wanted by the law, Stanimirovic said Croatia's chief state prosecutor Mladen Bajic recently told him about 800 Serbs were being investigated. He added there were no grounds to prosecute a number of them because they were on collective indictments, but said the rest would be tried either in Croatia or Serbia and Montenegro.
