"Our assessment is that together we can win in most counties and nearly all main county towns," HNS leader Vesna Pusic said at a press conference in Zagreb.
Pusic said that her party learned a lesson from the last parliamentary elections and that a written agreement was the most appropriate approach in order to avoid any speculation in the public about the reasons for forming a pre-election coalition.
"The proposal comes at a moment when all coalition parties stand well and when it became clear that citizens had recognised the (ruling) HDZ as a 'failed investment'," said the chairman of the party's central board, Radimir Cacic.
"At a time when the country is led by a team of people who are not ready to run development projects, it is particularly important to take over the leadership of the country at local level," Pusic said.
