Maybe the information appeared in Croatian media because of Slovenia's
joining the EU, but a possible withdrawing of the Slovene Army from
Sveta Gera was discussed as part of talks on the "initialled"
Drnovsek-Racan agreement, the Slovene president told the weekly.
"The idea was that the Slovene Army withdraws after the adoption of
the border agreement, because under the agreement the barracks is on
Croatia's soil," Drnovsek said and added that the issue was now dealt
with the the Anton Rop government.
Asked whether he expected the Croatian government to to withdraw the
parliament's decision on proclaiming the environmental and fishing
zone in the Adriatic, Drnovsek said it would be realistic to expect
the postponement of the implementation of the said decision.
